1. Introduction
Arcus Host ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our hosting services (including VPS, Game Hosting, and Web Services).
By creating an account, placing an order, or using our services, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Personal Information
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you register for the Service, including:
- Identity Data: Name, email address, physical address, and phone number.
- Billing Data: Transaction history and billing address.
- Payments: We do not store full credit card numbers or banking credentials. Payments are processed via secure third-party gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
2.2 Technical & Usage Data
When you access our services, our systems may automatically collect:
- Device Data: IP address, browser type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- Log Data: Access times, pages viewed, and the route taken to our website.
2.3 Hosted Data (Server Content)
As a hosting provider, we store the data you upload to your servers (e.g., Minecraft world files, configuration files, databases). While we store this data to provide the service, we do not access, review, or mine this content unless required by law or to resolve a specific technical support ticket initiated by you.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Service Provision: To provision your VPS or Game Server instance and manage your account.
- Fraud Prevention: To detect potential fraud (e.g., screening orders against known fraudulent IP lists or VPNs) before activating services.
- Communication: To send invoices, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, court orders, or government requests.
4. Sharing of Information (Reseller Disclosure)
Arcus operates as a reseller of infrastructure. To provide our services, we may share specific data with trusted third parties. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.
4.1 Upstream Infrastructure Providers
Your server data may reside on hardware owned and managed by third-party data centers (“Upstream Providers”). While these providers manage physical hardware, they do not have logical access to your data unless required for physical maintenance or legal compliance.
4.2 Third-Party Service Providers
We share necessary data with:
- Payment Processors: To facilitate secure payments.
- Fraud Prevention Services: To verify identity and prevent chargebacks.
- Email Services: To send transactional emails (e.g., password resets, invoice reminders).
4.3 Law Enforcement
We may disclose information where required by law, subpoena, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations and reasonable requests of law enforcement (e.g., in cases involving terrorism, CSAM, or severe cybercrime).
5. Game Server Specific Privacy
If you host a Game Server (e.g., Minecraft) with Arcus:
- Player Data: Your server logs may capture IP addresses and usernames of players. You (the User) are the “Data Controller” for this player data. We act as the “Data Processor.”
- Public Visibility: Game servers often broadcast IP, port, and status publicly to server lists. We cannot hide your server IP if the protocol requires it to be public.
6. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: We retain personal information for as long as your account is active to provide the Service.
- Terminated Accounts: Upon cancellation/termination, server data (files) is permanently deleted within 1-2 minutes.
- Legal Records: Billing, invoice, and transaction records may be retained for 2 years to comply with tax/accounting laws.
7. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your information (e.g., SSL encryption, firewalls, and strict access controls). However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
8. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your data:
- Access: Request copies of your personal data held by us.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Request erasure of personal data (subject to legal obligations such as billing record retention).
To exercise these rights, contact us via our support ticket system.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for purchase by users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for account creation.
- Note for Parents: While Minecraft is popular with children, the account holder responsible for the contract, billing, and liability must be at least 18 (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction).
